CHARITY WORK

CAFOD

We raised £210.13 at our Easter Celebration collection.  The children performed a beautiful performance of the Easter story and families kindly donated to the cause.  Below is a letter from CAFOD.

Dear Friend,

Thank you to everyone at St Oswald's Catholic Primary School. We were delighted to receive the £210.13 that you sent to us. Perhaps you or one of your pupils could read this letter out in an assembly, or paste it in a school newsletter?

This Lent we challenged ourselves to walk, stomp and stamp our way around the world to fight hunger. Thank you for each step that you took. Thank you for each cake you baked and sold. Thank you for all the creative ways you took part in CAFOD’s Walk Against Hunger Appeal. Thank you for listening to Lombeh’s story and above all else, thank you for making a difference. You are truly an inspiration, and we simply couldn’t do the work we do without you.

Each year we try to bring the world into your classroom, giving you the chance to meet some of the incredible people behind the stories we share. This year we told you about Lombeh and her community in Sierra Leone. When she was born, Lombeh was dangerously unwell, but thanks to a CAFOD-funded project, her mum Amie learnt how to make a nutritious paste to help Lombeh, and she now teaches other new mums how to make it.

The money you raised and the stories you shared will help CAFOD to continue to fund the clinic and help new mothers learn about nutritious food so that children just like Lombeh can grow up big and strong.

If you need anything from us, please do get in touch - we’re here for you! You can call our supporter care team on 0303 303 3030 or email us at cafod@cafod.org.uk

 Thank you and God bless

Christmas Joy

As part of The Christmas Joy Project, co-ordinated by Chorley Borough Council, we helped collect new toys to be distributed to families in Chorley. Below is a selection of toys collected by the schools an Parishes within the Chorley area.
